W. Cook

Possibly relates to:

William Cook(e) who, in 1911, was residing at 13 Wern Crescent, Nelson with his brother Thomas and Thomas’ family. Williams was born in Birmingham.

Thomas was married to Alice and they had three living children:

Thomas Victor, b. 1899
Lawrence Llewellyn, b. 1901
Gwendoline May, b. 1910

Sadly, Census records also show two further children:
Lydia Emily who had died at the age of 9 years, and,
Dennis Donald who died at 6 weeks of age.

Both Thomas and William are shown as labourers in a stone quarry. LIkely to have been the Wern Quarry which was filled in many years later.

As yet, I am unable to trace the military details of William, but will continue the research.
