Killed in action on 7th July 1916 - France & Flanders.

Son of Joseph And Susan Rea of Tredegar, who in 1891 were living at 1 Charles Street, Tredegar.
In 1895 Joseph Rea died. Susan and William moved to Monmouth where, in 1901 Susan is shown as the housekeeper for a Frederick Tucker at 5, Whitecross Street, Monmouth.
William was still living with his mother in Monmouth and received his education at Monmouth School.

Henry and his wife Agnes were living at 68, Brompton Place, Tredegar, along with their three children Edwin, Ethel and Reginald.

 

ROBERTSON, Alexander Prosser - Private 5/24169
5th Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders (Ross-shire Buffs, The Duke of Albany’s)

Born in Edinburgh in 1891, enlisted at Tredegar.
Killed in action on 13th October 1918.
Commemorated at Vis-en-Artois Memorial, France.

In 1911 Alexander was already enlisted as a soldier.

Born in Axbridge, Somerset in 1900, enlisted in Tredegar.
Killed in action on 1st June 1918 - France & Flanders.
Commemorated at Soissons Memorial, France

Son of Alfred and Beatrice Roe, 2 The Myrtles, Axbridge, Somerset. Brother to Alfred Roe.

Percy was living at 38, Brompton Place, Tredegar and if all records are fairly accurate, he was only 17 or 18 when killed. Either way, he was too young for active service.

Buried at Haringhe (Bandaghem) Military Cemetery, Belgium.

Son of Solomon and Brineta Rosenbaum (born in Russia), 55, Church Terrace, Tredegar.
Brother to Bella, George, Deborah, Moses, Jeanie, Lionel and Cyril Rosenbaum.

1911 census shows Lawrence to be a pawnbroker’s assistant - his brother George was the pawnbroker.

Born in Bedwellty in 1887, enlisted in Rhymney and lived in Tredegar
Died of wounds on 3rd November 1914 - France & Flanders.
Buried at Messines Ridge British Cemetery, Belgium

Son of James and Johanna Ryan, brother to Mary and Andrew Ryan.
The 1901 census showed the family to live at 9 Iron Street, Tredegar but by 1911 Thomas had already enlisted and was stationed at Pembroke Barracks.
